Applying for a grant which includes CHBH facilities

 

If you would like to apply for a grant which includes CHBH facilities, please follow these steps:

 

1.  Discuss your proposal with the appropriate CHBH modality lead. A list of modality leads can be found in the Management Committee list on the CHBH website.

2.  Discuss your proposal with the Research Support contact for your department.

3.  Calculate the number of hours of each modality required. Please add a 10% contingency to account for participant/scan cancellations. We also recommend approximately 5h setup time.

4.  Find out the latest rates for modalities. These are available on Worktribe and can be viewed by adding a Directly Allocated Research Facility:

 

 

 

5.  Calculate the cost of your project and number of hours of each modality required, using the above information.

6.  Send an email to the CHBH Operations Manager (cc Research Support) detailing the proposal in the following format.

  • [Modality type 1]: [number of hours] x [cost] = [amount] + 10% contingency
  • [Modality type 2]: [number of hours] x [cost] = [amount] 10% contingency
  • Total amount.
  • Funder
  • Proposed start and end dates of project.
  • Short justification.

7.  If you require, or Research Support advises, an ‘in kind contribution’ from the University/CHBH, please email this request in addition to the information requested above to the CHBH Operations Manager, copying in Research Support. This will be discussed at the weekly Directors meeting, and the Operations Manager will contact you to discuss the outcome after the meeting.

8.  Liaise with Research Support to complete your application.

9.  Inform the CHBH Operations Manager and Research Support of the outcome of your application.
